[1]Ponterio, Richard, Ponterio sale 168: The Official ANA Auction, Irvine, CA: Stack's Bowers LLC, 2012.
Cuhaj, George S., and Thomas Michael, Standard Catalog of World Coins, 1701-1800, 5th ed., Iola, WI: Krause Publications, 2010.
Catalog reference: KM-690.2; Sieg-25; H-29.
Specification: 6.12 g, .687 fine silver, .135 troy oz ASW.
This specimen was lot 50395 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, " . 32 Rigsbankskilling, 1820-IFF. NGC Unc Details--Surface Hairlines." This one year type, like many European minors, is scandalously undervalued. At the time, the monetary system was 12 penning = 1 skilling, 16 skillings = 1 mark, 4 mark = 1 krone, 6 mark = 1 daler specie, 2 daler specie = 1 ducat.
